How to Optimize Your Slow PC.

How to Optimize Your Slow PC. Optimize PC for Better Performance.

This Tutorial will show you some ways to Optimize your Windows computer's performance, especially if it's running very slowly. We all know how frustrating it is for a computer to take what seems to be a seemingly easy task to feel like an unexpected. A slow computer can cost you time and even money in the long run. There is a remedy for many computers, and my money is not a new computer. If you have a slow computer, there is a few hours left and a basic understanding of Windows and a web browser, but this tutorial is for you.

First thing first, some note and disclaimer:

- I do not need to discuss the following optimization, maintenance activities, etc. in this tutorial. It is the order I recommend that

All the steps in this tutorial are optional.

- If a particular optimization is a bit better then I try to point it out and leave it to you to determine the path you want to fold.

I'll sometimes use the term "mechanical hard drive" (opposing an SSD, or solid-state drive). If you do not know any solid-state drive then you probably do not have it.

- These optimizations have been created for Windows XP for Windows XP, but some of them will work with older versions of Windows.

- If you run a technical problem during this tutorial (you should not have to), Google is your best friend to solve their problem. I simply can not cover every potential problem faced on your specific computer.

Before starting this tutorial, you are highly recommended to perform a thorough backup of all important files.

- If you follow this tutorial incorrectly, then I am not responsible for any damages.

Let's start!

Here are some Tips to Help you Optimize for Faster Performance.

Step 1:- Restart Your PC and Open Only The Apps You Need.

Having more open apps, programs, web browsers, and so on can slow down your PC. If this is happening, restart your PC and then turn off the apps, programs, and windows that you are not using.

To restart your PC

  • Select Start   > Power  > Restart.
  • After restarting your PC, open the apps you need, and turn them off when finished.
Sometimes the applications made for the previous version of Windows will still run on Windows 10 but they can reduce your PC. If this happens after you open a specific program, check the software company's website for the updated version or run the program compatibility problem solver.

To run the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter

Step 2:- Disable Startup Programs.

Some programs contain an element that automatically runs at the beginning. Although it is convenient for frequently used programs, initially running unwanted software can slow down your computer. Here's how to disable the startup program.

How to Optimize Your Slow PC.

  • Right-click the Start button
  • Click “Task Manager”
  • Click “Startup”
  • Select the program you want to turn off.
  • Click “Disable”.

Step 3:- Clean your internal drive.

If your internal storage is almost complete-it's a hard drive or SSD-it can slow you down. But if you have plenty of room on your drive, skip this section.

Start with Windows's own disk cleanup tool. In the case of the Cortana, type the disk and select disk cleanup. Please wait while checking your drive to clean the disc. Click the Clean Up System File button (this time your administrator password will be required). Then wait for another test again.

Check out the options. If you find one you called the previous Windows installation (s), your luck. By checking it and clicking OK, you will free up a lot of space. You can also check other items to get rid of them, as well.

Another thing you can consider: Uninstall the program you no longer use.

Step 4:- Delete Temp,%Temp%, Prefetch.

Step 8:- Check for and Remove Viruses and Malware.

A virus, malware, or malicious software can run slowly on your PC. Other symptoms include unexpected pop-up messages, unexpectedly started programs, or your hard disk sound continuously.

The best way to handle viruses and malicious software is to run antimalware and antivirus software and prevent them from keeping it up to date. However, if you take precautions, your PC may still be infected.

You can scan your PC for viruses or other malicious software using Windows Security (formerly Windows Defender Security Center), which is included in Windows 10.

To scan the virus using Windows Security (Windows 10 version 1809)

Select Start> Settings> Updates and Security> Windows Security> Open Windows Security.

Select Viruses and Threats Protection> Virus and Threat Protection Updates, then select Check for updates to make sure that you have your latest definition file.

Select Virus and Threat Protection, then select Fast Scan.

Wait for viruses and malware to finish scanning for Windows security.

Depending on the scan result, do one of the following:

Run the proposed advanced scan. This scan takes longer but searches your pages more frequently for threats.

If Windows Security finds a virus or malware and can not remove it, please contact Microsoft Support to help with it.

If no viruses are found, restart your PC and try to reproduce the problem of performance on your PC.

To scan the virus using Windows Defender Security Center (Windows 10 version 1803)

Select Start> Settings> Updates & Security> Windows Security> Open Windows Defender Protection Center.

Select Virus and Threat Protection, then select Virus and Threat Protection Updates> Check for updates to make sure you have the latest definition files.

Select Virus and Threat Protection tab and select Scan now.

Step 9:- Adjust the visual effects in Windows.

How to Optimize Your Slow PC.

Windows 10 has many visual effects, such as animations and shadow effects. It looks great, but they can use extra system resources and reduce your PC - this is especially true, but if you have a small amount of memory (RAM).

  • In the search box on the taskbar, type performance, then select Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
  • On the Visual Effect tab, adjust for best performance> Apply.
  • Restart your PC and see if your PC is on the rise.
Step 10:- Pause OneDrive Syncing.

How to Optimize Your Slow PC.

You choose where your PC settings will be saved by default file. You can save files on your PC by default or in OneDrive and sync files between two locations. This lets you get in your files from any device that you can connect to from any device on the Internet, and it helps to ensure that your files are backed up or damaged by your PC. However, the files must be synced between your PC and OneDrive, and syncing can reduce your PC. You can stop syncing OneDrive temporarily and see if it helps improve your PC performance.

To stop Syncing to OneDrive

  • In the taskbar, look around OneDrive in the notification area.
  • Select OneDrive> More> Stop Syncing, and then choose how long you'd like to stop syncing your files.
  • Restart your PC and see whether your Performance problems with Sync have improved.
  • To resume syncing your files, select OneDrive> More> Resume Sync.

Step 11:- Disable Background Services.

How to Optimize Your Slow PC.

On your Windows 10 system, you can find many applications and programs that always run in the background. It contains a lot of unnecessary programs that only consume resources on your system and slow down your system. By default, Windows 10 allows every application to run in the background, so if you want to disable some programs running in the background, you have to change this setting. Go to Settings> Privacy> Background Apps. Here, you will find the application with a toggle "on/off". Here, close the toggle for all applications that you do not want to run in the background. It will immediately increase the performance of your system.

Step 12:- Optimize Windows 10 Hard Disk.

Defragmentation is a process where all the data is properly organized which will improve disk performance. The information is stored in the blocks and when the same type of blocks are different from each other, it becomes a separator. Consider organizing your book-style together with similar books in one place.

In the search bar, type and select defragment 'Defragment and optimize drive'.

After the optimization is completed, you can schedule a weekly defrag to repeat the same process every week to ensure your hard disk is organized and performing at the optimum level. Go to 'Change Settings' and select Daily, Weekly or Monthly Frequency.

To open Defrag Hard Drive

Select  File Explorer → Right Click On Windows(C)→Click Properties→Click Tools
